So it can feel like the wild west out there when you are shopping for a swing set!

Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube, and all other platforms are throwing ads at you like the shoot-out at high noon!

How do you know what is legit? Phrases like “premier vinyl swing sets” and “highest quality standards” are great, but everyone uses them. What should you be looking for when it comes to swing sets?

In a world where we all are buying more and more items online and not seeing them in person, how can you be sure you are getting a good swing set?

Here is my shortlist of actual quality points for shopping swing sets online.

The Warranty

Talk is cheap; warranties are not. High-quality products will withstand the test of time, so the longer the company warrants their playsets, the better the quality of the material.

King Swings backs its vinyl swing sets with a 6-year warranty on all parts and labor, a 20-year warranty on the vinyl itself against discoloration and fading, and a lifetime warranty on the wood inside the sleeve against rot decay and insect damage.

The Reviews

This is a no-brainer but check the reviews. How recent are the latest ones? Is there a theme in the reviews whether negative or positive? Does the company try to correct its mistakes?

Check out King Swing’s reviews on Google and Facebook. We know that a swing set is a big purchase, and we want everyone to be happy.

The Weight

Would you rather get hit by a 100 lbs lineman or a 300 lbs lineman? Weight can be a tell for quality.

Now, I am not saying that a light swing set is always poor quality. Creative use of material and smart engineering can reduce weight and maintain a high quality, but the weight does matter.

The heavier the set, the less likely it will blow over or tip over.
Our Cubby’s Fort model would weigh close to 800 lbs, while our Captain’s Castle model would be over 1,600 lbs.

Our Trex decking used on our towers and climbers weigh a ridiculous amount, but it allows adults to use the equipment.

In Closing

There are other essential things to consider, such as the staff’s knowledge and clarity of the information presented to you. However, if you look for my bulletin points, you can rest assured that you are getting a high-quality swing set.
