First, a story before we dive into all the details of the Summit A-frame Playhouse. Elmer, the owner and CEO, has two energetic boys who have grown up surrounded by playhouses, swing sets, and playgrounds. If anyone is immune to the charms and siren call of a swing set, these boys would be.

However, there is something about the iconic look and cozy appeal that cut the boys to their hearts. We had set up a Summit for a photo and video session. After we wrapped, they approached Elmer and begged him to spend the night out in The Summit A-frame Playhouse. Elmer agreed, and together, they dragged out blankets and pillows, making a memory that would stick with those boys. And, of course, it rained hard on them. But they stayed dry and warm, tucked in their A-frame playhouse.

The Summit A-frame Playhouse

The Dimensions.

The A-frame Playhouse is 13’ wide, 6’ deep, and 11’ tall! This means there was plenty of room for Elmer and his boys and plenty of room for you and your kids! The attached and optional front porch is 11’ wide and 4’ deep. This gives you a place to enjoy the included tea table and chairs, plus add in your unique furniture or decorations. The porch is also a great place to park muddy shoes or boots before entering the playhouse!

The Materials

This A-frame playhouse is made out of high-quality, durable materials. The structural parts of the playhouse, such as the 4x4s, 2x6s, etc, are made out of our vinyl sleeve, in which we insert our pressure-treated southern yellow pine. This combination creates a robust, heavy future framework that is splinter-free, virtually maintenance-free, and backed by an aggressive warranty!

The decking, both on the porch and inside the playhouse, is made out of Trex® decking boards. Durable, stain resistant, and won’t rot, warp, crack, or split, Trex® decking is well known for its high quality.

Customizing

Our A-frame playhouses are different from our standard playhouses for customizing. Because of the manufacturing process, you can’t make them wider or taller. However, you can add more windows, remove the porch, add a balcony and 2nd story crawlspace, and if you are feeling adventurous, craft out an a-frame playset like the Chalet A-frame Playset!
